Do you need help?
Do you need help? Self-harm counselling is for both self-harmers and relatives. As a self-harmer, you will get counselling in how to deal with your self-harming behaviour. You will also receive counselling in getting to a point where you believe that you are not alone in having the feelings you have.
As a relative, you get advice on how to deal with the difficult emotions that come with having a self-harmer close to you. You will also be given tools on how to help and support.
My self-harm counselling and the tools you get from me are specifically tailored to your individual situation and needs.
Counselling made especially for you
As no two cases are alike, all the counselling I give is tailor-made for every person involved, be it the self-harmer or their relatives. Before the counselling starts, there will always be a consultation where together we find out whether what I offer is what you need.
Based on that I will put together a counselling plan, which can be anything from just a couple of sessions to a course lasting several months. The course is based on your specific needs.
Online
The need for self-harm counselling is increasing, and has only grown further during Covid. But Covid has made face-to-face consultations more difficult, so I have started online counselling. That also gives clients living far away from me access to help. I speak Danish, English and German and have counselled Danish, European and English clients – often at least as effectively as if we were in the same room.
All counselling sessions last about two hours, followed up by a shorter session by phone, Skype or Microsoft teams. The follow-up lasts between 5 and 30 minutes as needed or maybe just a text message if you just need a quick “check-in.”
